Business Development Engineer – Power Supplies

Boston, MA (Supporting San Francisco Area)

$155-175K (Base Salary)

Overview

Business Development Engineer experienced in power supply applications and sales with a focus on working with customers in the Server Storage, Networking, Industrial & Medical markets. The ideal candidate will work to identify and develop relationships with potential customers/clients & distributors; have the “hunter” sales mentality to chase and close business in the assigned territory while utilizing his/her technical skills to achieve results.

Responsibilities

  • Meet or exceed annual sales goals while remaining within expense budget guidelines.


  • Work in collaboration with our other divisions to manage manufacturer's representatives in the territory to ensure that sales goals are met.


  • Engage distribution partners to build strong branch level sales relations and work collaboratively to promote the power product line.


  • Visit accounts, resolve customer problems, and make customer presentations, as necessary.


  • Analyze regional market trends and discover new opportunities for growth.


  • Provide market feedback on trends.


  • Suggest industry events that the company should be aware of, represent the company at those events.


  • Diligent keeping of leads, opportunities, and project status in company database (Salesforce.com).


  • Provide training to field sales personnel (reps and distributors) as appropriate.


  • Accurately forecast quarterly and annual sales goals.


  • Maximize profit margin while maintaining customer base.

Qualifications

  • 5 – 10 years selling experience in power supply sales.


  • Electronics Engineering degree (desired).


  • Excellent understanding of target markets.


  • Working knowledge of sales tools Salesforce.com.


  • Well versed in Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Excel & Word.


Travel: 30% - 40%
