
Overview
The Field Applications Engineer will support the sales department with pre-sales and post-sales
activities with existing and new accounts. The successful candidate will resolve issues that may
arise, such as reliability/quality, specification deviations, and overall requests for technical data.
They will also respond to existing and new account technical questions and issues and assist with
debugging and solving technical problems like thermals, EMI, efficiency, and basic functionality.
Responsibilities
Respond to customer’s technical questions in time and record all issues accordingly.
Generate technical documents and failure analysis reports.
On-site support for key account customers
Collaboration with other team members locally and worldwide.
Provide pre-sales & post-sales support to the sales force
Work with the engineering teams for NPI programs, facilitating technical communications, on-site testing and debugging.
Work with customers to identify new RFQ opportunities, to understand and communicate customers product roadmap to engineering teams.
Support to resolve field issues at customer sites, including first-level FA, FW and HW rework, etc.
Capture new design wins
Cross competitive products
Identify future product and technology trends and report them to Marketing.
Visit customers and solve existing application issues and problems.
Coordinate and present the latest product information to customers and staff in the assigned area
Assist with translation of data sheets / web materials / promotional items where appropriate.
Write technical articles for the electronics industry publications and press releases.
Qualifications
Bachelors in Electrical Engineering; MSEE preferred; NOT essential
5+ years power supply design (ACDC, DCAC or UPS) or power supply application engineering
Experience with troubleshooting and working with power electronics systems and network connection
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong time management skills that enable on-time project delivery.
Bilingual: English/Mandarin; a plus
