Responsibilities
Apply electronic engineering principles to achieve maximum performance and benefit from Power Integrations technologies.
Act as the technical engineering lead within the region or key customers and provide guidance in choosing the right products to optimize implementation of our complex technologies.
Utilize organizational, analytical, laboratory, and technical skills to perform detailed engineering work to test Power Integrations solutions for customers.
Provide Sales support: uncover new design opportunities with the aim to convert them into wins.
Provide design support and technical advice to our client’s customers within the region.
Satisfy customer design requirements.
Provide design recommendations, debug applications, and recommend improvements.
Build prototype solutions including Hardware and Software to meet customers’ requirements.
Conduct technical training to customers & Sales partners.
May be required to travel to various unanticipated sites throughout the USA.
Qualifications
BSEE required; MSEE a Plus; or degree in a related technical field
Minimum 3 years of experience in Hardware & Software design for HVBLDC motor control application
Must know motor structure and operation, motor control system diagram and techniques (field-oriented control, trapezoidal control, etc.)
Basic programming, firmware, and/or software development, C++ programming and application debugging.
Good to know: ARM architecture in particular Cortex-M cores, IAR IDE
Good understanding of motor drive products and design tools is a plus
Experience on Power electronics design, test, and evaluation
Knowledgeable on Thermal design and management techniques
Good understanding on Electromagnetic Interference (EMI), EMC and Safety Regulatory standards
Design/Applications Engineering experience in the following areas: Motor (BLDC) Control, power converters/conversion/management, switching/switch-mode power supplies, analog control loop design, stability, and magnetic design (transformers, chokes, and inductors)
Able to do printed circuit board layout (PCB) design
Knowledge in microcontroller programming is a plus point
Familiar on using of electronic equipment like oscilloscope, AC/DC source, power meter, digital multi-meter, etc.
Must be able to work alone with minimal supervision
Solution driven individual that can think out of the box solutions that will lead to a much better performing circuit design
