Field Applications Engineer – Clean Energy

$140-150K Base

Overview

The successful candidate will oversee support for our client’s USA products. They will also work

with our client’s US Sales team for pre-sales activities.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to customer’s technical questions in time and record all issues accordingly.


  • Generate technical documents and failure analysis reports.


  • On-site support for our key account customers.


  • Collaboration with other team members locally and worldwide.


  • Provide pre-sales support to the sales force on EVSE production line.


  • Work with Asian engineering teams for NPI programs, facilitating technical communications, on-site testing and debugging.


  • Work with customers to identify new RFQ opportunities, to understand and communicate customers product roadmap to engineering teams.


  • Support to resolve field issues at customer sites, including first-level FA, FW and HW rework, etc.


  • Capture new design-wins.


  • Cross competitive products.


  • Prioritize opportunities according to dollar potential, technical requirements, relative difficulty, customer importance, ectara…


  • Identify future product and technology trends and report them to Marketing.


  • Visit customer and solve existing application issues and problems.


  • Coordinate and present latest product information to customers and staff in the assigned area.


  • Assist with translation of data sheets / web materials / promotional items where appropriate.


  • Write technical articles for the electronics industry publications and press releases.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering; MSEE preferred.


  • 5+ years power supply design (Battery Backup, Systems, Storage, Inverters or UPS) or power supply application engineering.


  • Experiences with troubleshooting and working with power electronics system, network connection and electrical vehicle charging.


  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.


  • Strong time management skills that enable on-time project delivery.


  • Bring to line of business the voice of customer and technical evaluation of customer to make offer roadmap more attractive and differentiating.


TRAVEL: 40% – 50% domestic
